Dual Sky - 51667

Ideal for electric conversion for models requiring .25-.32 2-stroke (4-5.7cc) airplanes.

How to choose the right thrust for you application?

Well, there is no hard and fast rule as there isn't a single "ideal" thrust-to-weight ratio (TWR) for all airplanes.

It depends heavily on the aircraft's purpose, with military fighters needing high TWR (1 to 1) for combat performance, while commercial aircraft use lower TWRs (0.3-0.5 to 1) to prioritize fuel efficiency. A TWR of greater than 1.0 is required for vertical takeoff and rapid climb, while a lower ratio, around 0.1-0.3, can be sufficient for stable, level flight in gliders or efficient cruise for light private & commercial planes.

My rule of thumb when it comes to performance is to decide what sort of scale performance you are wanting (remember, you don't have to use all the throttle). I typically choose due to this anywhere from 0.5 to 0.75 to 1 TWR depending on the performance I want.

For high performance applications, Like serious aerobatics or 3D 1.0 to 1.25 to 1 TWR is my go to.

It is all personal preference though.
