Seagull Models - SEA250S

Curtiss P-40N Warhawk Sharks Head, 80" 38-61cc, ARF Kit including JP electric rotating retracts.

New and improved 2025 version!

The Curtiss P‑40 Warhawk (known locally in New Zealand as the Kittyhawk) was the backbone of New Zealand’s fighter force from 1942 to 1944, serving in the Pacific with distinction and becoming the RNZAF’s first truly modern frontline fighter.

The P‑40N (Kittyhawk IV) which is what this model represents, was the final and most numerous P‑40 variant flown by RNZAF, with its lightened construction and improved performance it became the backbone of RNZAF fighter operations in the Pacific.

With RNZAF P-40N squadrons 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 operating in the Solomon Islands from Guadacanal, Bougainville (Torokina) and Green Island, performing rolls;

  • Bomber escort for RNZAF, USAAF, US Navy, and USMC aircraft
  • Air‑to‑air combat against Japanese fighters
  • Ground attack & close support
  • Patrols and interception

With 99 confirmed aerial victorys and 14 probables, RNZAF P‑40 pilots earned a reputation for exceptional escort discipline, rarely losing bombers under their protection.

From mid‑1944, the RNZAF began replacing P‑40's with F4U‑1A Corsairs, which offered better performance and range.

The Seagull Curtiss P-40N 80" / 2032mm Warhawk is extremely lightweight with its balsa and plywood construction. It has a highly detailed cockpit and Painted fiberglass cowl, exhaust ports, and landing gear pods. The factory-applied Oracover covering trim scheme and the painted fiberglass cowl recreates the iconic "Shark Mouth" which helps this model stay true to the look of the original real WWII-era P-40 Warhawk aircraft.
